Misneach (pronounced mish-noch) is Gaelic for courage. It’s taken a lot of courage (for so many reasons) to begin this venture. I live in North Glengarry, Ontario, Canada, which has Scottish roots, back to the Highland Clearances (and is also home to the North American Pipe Band Championships). I also have Scottish ancestors (as well as English, Irish and German). Misneach, then, is a fitting name. I am a lapsed lawyer who’s decided to explore her creative side. I have always loved clothing and accessories and combining that with my fascination with all things Celtic has produced something special.
My Celtic inspired creations are all handmade, one at a time, by me. I’ve sourced tweeds and tartans from directly from Scotland and combined those fabrics with canvas, leather and the finest quilting cottons to craft these charming pieces. I hope you will love them as much as I do.
I’m also happy to discuss custom orders, using fabrics to your specifications. Send me an email at info@misneach.ca and let’s chat!
