SUMMARY:Lifting Women's Hearts
DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday\, October 19th at Richelieu Vanier Commmunity Center for Lifting Women’s Hearts – a Powwow to honor missing and murdered Indigenous Women\, Girls\, and Two-Spirit folks.\nOpening ceremony will be at noon\nClosing ceremony will be at 4:45\nFeast to follow\nMC: Rhonda Doxtator\nAD: Mista Wasis\nHost Drum: Ottawa River Singers\nCo-Host Drum: Eagle River Singers\nSpecial guest drum:  Whitetail Cree Singers.\nThis Powwow will include traditional dancers\, singers\, crafts\, food\, and more. Crafts made by local\, Indigenous people will be on display. Powwow will also include spaces for families of all ages\, including children’s activities and a bouncy castle. There will also be door prizes and a giveaway!\nList of vendors to be announced. Please bring cash if you would like to purchase items from vendors as there is no ATM onsite.\nPlease note that this event will take place\, rain or shine. We encourage folks to dress according to the weather.  \nTransportation:\nThere is some parking on site – however it is very limited. We encourage folks to use public transportation. Bus route 20 goes straight to the community center from St. Laurent Mall. We recognize this may be triggering or upsetting. If this is a concern\, please contact Flo.
